Who It's For

Dentists, dental students, oral surgeons, periodontists, hygienists, endodontists, and surgical specialists who want a loupe system that actively supports a neutral head position throughout the procedure, not just when conditions are ideal.

Whether you are entering the profession and want to build sound postural habits from the beginning, or you are an experienced clinician who has felt the cumulative effect of forward head tilt across years of clinical work, the ErgoPath is built for exactly that shift. It is equally well suited to long-time loupe users ready to make the change and those choosing their first system.

Fit & Comfort

The Hogies engineered support cord attaches at the back of the head and redistributes weight away from the nose bridge. Nose pressure that builds across a long session is one of the most consistent complaints that clinicians report. The support cord addresses this directly.

Each ErgoPath system is fitted with a Hogies adjustable bridge selected to suit your facial profile. Multiple bridge options are available to suit different facial structures, ensuring the optical system sits correctly relative to your eyes regardless of your face shape.

Interpupillary distance is fully adjustable from 42 to 70mm and each eye can be aligned independently. Tilt angle, loupe height, and nose pad position are all independently adjustable, so the system adapts to your anatomy precisely.

At 38 grams for the flip-up frame, ErgoPath is one of the lightest systems in its class. Loupe barrel weight ranges from 22g at 3.0x to 25g at 5.8x and 7.2x.

Lens & Frame Details

At the core of ErgoPath is a high-refractive-index prism with dielectric coating that bends the optical path 45 degrees inside the loupe barrel. Your eyes look forward. The image is deflected down to the working field. Your head stays level. Your neck stays neutral. This is not an ergonomic adjustment to an existing design. It is a fundamental change to how the optics are arranged.

Multi-coated low-dispersion glass lenses throughout the system achieve high light transmittance across a wavelength range of 400nm to 1000nm, with minimal chromatic aberration. The result is a sharp, bright, wide image at every magnification level from 3.0x through to specialist-grade 7.2x.

Hogies sets your working distance within a range of 380 to 550mm at the time of ordering, based on your natural working posture. The 7.2x model operates within a range of 380 to 500mm.

The flip-up design gives you the flexibility to move the optical system in and out of the line of sight as your needs change during your working day, without removing the frame or losing your setup.

ErgoPath supports prescription vision in two ways. Your own prescription glasses can be worn with the loupe system without modification. Alternatively, the rimless RX insert integrates directly into the ErgoPath frame for a single, fully integrated solution. The RX insert is an optional extra, sold separately.

Additional Information

The ErgoPath deflection principle

ErgoPath is built around a single engineering principle: the loupe should adapt to your natural posture, not the other way around. A high-refractive-index prism inside the loupe barrel bends the optical path 45 degrees downward, directing the image from the working field up to your eyes while your head remains in a natural, upright position. The flip-up design gives you the flexibility to adjust as your needs change and your practice evolves. We only sell flip-up loupes. We believe they offer more flexibility than any fixed alternative. That is what we stand behind.

Working distance

Your working distance is set by Hogies within a range of 380 to 550mm at the time of ordering, based on your natural working posture and procedure position. The 7.2x model operates within a range of 380 to 500mm. If you are unsure, contact Hogies before placing your order. Getting this right at the beginning removes the most common source of loupe discomfort.

A frame that stays with you

ErgoPath is built on the award-winning Hogies Mediview frame, compatible with the full range of Hogies loupe systems. As your clinical needs develop, the Hogies magnetic accessory platform also allows you to add lights, laser shields, and additional protection without replacing anything. The system is designed to expand alongside your practice.

The magnetic accessory platform

Every Hogies loupe frame includes built-in magnetic connection points. Lights and laser shields attach and detach cleanly, without adhesive, external mounts, or cable management. The LightView Cordless LED Headlight, YNA-2, and YNA-Mini all connect directly to the frame. No separate mounting hardware is required.

Available accessories (sold separately):

  • LightView Cordless LED Headlight
  • YNA-2 LED Headlight
  • YNA-Mini LED Headlight
  • Laser shields for a wide range of lasers and curing lights
  • Curved polycarbonate interchangeable shields: loupe shield and safety shield
  • Rimless RX prescription insert

FAQs
