Who It's For

Dental students, hygienists, oral health therapists, and early-career clinicians who want reliable, high-quality magnification without the cost of advanced loupe systems.

Whether you are choosing your first loupe and want to get it right at the beginning, or you are an experienced clinician looking for a dependable secondary system, the MiniScope delivers genuine optical quality and a proper fit at a price that makes sense for where you are in your career.

Fit & Comfort

The MiniScope is supplied with the award-winning Hogies Mediview frame, the same exceptional flip-up loupe frame used across the Hogies range. Lightweight, stable, and designed for comfortable wear across clinical sessions and learning environments.

Interpupillary distance is fully adjustable via binocular adjustment, ensuring the optical system sits correctly relative to your eyes from the first time you put it on.

The Hogies engineered support cord attaches at the back of the head and redistributes weight away from the nose bridge. Nose pressure that builds across a long session is one of the most consistent complaints that clinicians report. The support cord addresses this directly.

Declination angles are adjustable, allowing you to set a working angle that suits your natural posture and procedure position.

Lens & Frame Details

The MiniScope Galilean 3.0x uses high-quality multi-coated glass lenses to deliver clear, bright magnification with a wide, comfortable field of view. The optical system is designed to perform reliably across general dental procedures, hygiene work, and clinical training environments.

Working distance is a fixed optical specification built into the loupe at manufacture. Two options are available: 340 mm and 420 mm. You select the distance that matches your natural working posture.

The flip-up design gives you the flexibility to move the optical system in and out of the line of sight as your needs change during a procedure, without removing the frame or losing your setup.

A rimless prescription insert is available separately and integrates directly into the system.

Additional Information

A system that grows with you
The MiniScope is not a dead end. The Hogies Mediview frame is compatible with many of the Hogies loupe systems, meaning when you are ready to upgrade your magnification, you keep the frame. As your clinical needs develop, the Hogies magnetic accessory platform also allows you to add lights, laser shields, and additional protection without replacing anything. The system is designed to expand alongside your practice, making the MiniScope one of the smartest first investments you can make in your clinical career.

The magnetic accessory platform
Every Hogies loupe frame includes built-in magnetic connection points. Lights and laser shields attach and detach cleanly, without adhesive, external mounts, or cable management. The LightView Cordless LED Headlight, YNA-2, and YNA-Mini all connect directly to the frame. No separate mounting hardware is required.

Available accessories (sold separately):

  • LightView Cordless LED Headlight
  • YNA-2 LED Headlight
  • YNA-Mini LED Headlight
  • Laser shields for a wide range of lasers and curing lights
  • Rimless prescription insert

Working distance selection
Because working distance is fixed at manufacture, selecting the right distance is one of the most important decisions in the ordering process. It should reflect the distance between your eyes and the working surface when you are sitting in a natural, upright posture. If you are unsure, contact Hogies before placing your order. Getting this right at the beginning removes the most common source of loupe discomfort.
